Communities of Practice
PHN-PREP supports seven virtual Communities of Practice (CoPs) that are hosted through a WordPress platform:
- PHN-PREP CoP – membership is open to Healthy Babies Healthy Children or Nurse-Family Partnership public health nurses
- NCAST PCI Instructors’ CoP – membership is open to Ontario NCAST PCI Instructors only
- Ontario PHN Mental Health CoP: Home Visiting – membership is open to 1-2 representatives from each public health unit
- Promoting Maternal Mental Health (PMMH) Champions’ CoP – membership is open to PMMH Champions only
- HBHC Screening Liaison Nurses’ (SLN) CoP – membership is open to HBHC SLNs only
- HBHC Family Home Visitor (FHV) Networking Group – membership is open to FHVs only
- HBHC Managers’ and Supervisors’ CoP– membership is open to HBHC Managers and Supervisors.
The goals of the Communities of Practice are to create a virtual space for Ontario public health nurses and supervisors to:
- Explore new ideas, ask questions about nursing practice, and meet colleagues from across the province
- Share innovative resources and practices that have been developed within their local health unit
- Highlight and celebrate public health nursing innovations and accomplishments
How to Access the Programs
Please contact [email protected] to request an account to join the PHN-PREP CoP. All PHNs are welcome to join the main PHN-PREP group.
For other CoP groups: Group facilitators or chairs will send an invitation to join theses virtual spaces, or will ask you to use the ‘request to join’ button.
