PHN-PREP Framework

In 2020, the School of Nursing, McMaster University (project lead, Susan Jack) entered into a service agreement with the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) to develop a plan for implementing a framework to support the practice and education needs of public health nurses delivering home visiting services.

The PHN-PREP team is currently developing resources that can provide guidance to public health nurses on identified priority topics. This guidance is based on tacit- or practice-informed knowledge, existing guidelines and/or research evidence (when available) and consultation with content experts. You can read more about our Practice-Informed Guidance Framework here.

The next steps of this project include developing a Community of Practice, where HBHC and NFP teams across the province of Ontario can come together to build a community for sharing resources and strategizing around common interests and concerns.
